Microsoft IoT Hub
During the months of May and June in 2024, I did an internship at Saravanos SA. The Greek-Belgian company provides high-tech modular process systems for clients like Colgate-Palmolive.
The project involved problem-solving, teamwork and exploring many software systems. TIA portal for example, by Siemens, is used to program PLC’s in industrial settings. The data flow needed to go through TIA, to a database in Microsoft Azure. Here, it could be used in the IoT Hub to do data analytics and AI (e.g. error detection).
From the technical programming side (mainly SQL) to the high-level client meetings, I learned many things about the industrial sector.
